Portsmouth City Council is investing £100M in new sea defences for the Southsea area of the city to protect it from the risk of flooding for the next 100 years.

In this presentation, the contracting team represented by VolkerStevin contract director Jon Benton and Boskalis Westminster head of business sector Paul Datson outline the design and construction work on the scheme to protect the area from a one in 200 year flood.

The pair explain how the project has been split into six sections with a detailed explanation of the construction methods for each and the challenges each part of the project presented.

The presentation also covers how the project is approaching delivery of its zero waste commitment.
