Watch: How is the 2021 Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy progressing?

This video was first aired at the 2023 NCE Flood Resilience conference.

Jacobs head of water catchment management Amy Bentley, Greater London Authority principal policy and programme officer Victoria Boorman, Network Rail principal engineer (drainage and lineside) Hector Kidds, Environment Agency flood and coastal risk management manager Steven Tupper and National Highways principal environmental advisor Michael Whitehead discuss the progress being made on the 2021 Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) Strategy.

The panel also talks about the impact on flooding on coastal erosion on different infrastructure assets. Another topic of discussion is whether the right balance between the need to manage the increasing risk of flooding and coastal erosion brought about by climate change and the need to mitigate climate change by moving to net zero carbon has been reached.
