Watch: How can we utilise technology to improve the management and inspection of assets?

This talk was presented live at the NCE Bridges Design & Management conference on 28 June.

The panellists were: GHD associate director Ghazi Suliman, Jacobs NTD consultant James Watson, Atkins professional head of civil engineering structures and geotechnics Chris Mundell, National Highways deputy head of structures Colin George, Transport for London principal engineering leader surface & highway structures Nicola Head and London Borough of Camden structures and bridges team leader Gana Natkunan.

They discuss how technology can be deployed to effectively support the inspection and maintenance of structures, particularly where deterioration might not be visible. The possibility of using technology to create a future of “self-monitoring” structures is also discussed. The panellists also consider the importance not just of capturing data but of understanding how to interpret it.
